Re: Your Assignment
Dear Journalist,
Welcome to The Reader's Gazette! I am so excited to have you on my staff. You are working with many of the best reporters in the country, covering all of the hard-hitting news in the world of authors, illustrators and books! I am proud to deliver you your very first assignment.
Tomie dePaola, the great author and illustrator of many books, is coming to our town. He has written to me, asking us to publish an article in our newspaper about his arrival. He wants his audience to know a little bit about who he is, as well as the stories he has written. It is your job to use the resources I have gathered for you to do some research on Tomie's life and prepare to share what you have learned with your readers. While you are exploring the Internet, do not forget to take some time in our office to review the hard copies of his books. There is nothing like getting to know an author through his books!
I trust that you will have the resources you need to get the job done. Should you need any help through the process, please come to my office. However, I expect that you will get this done on your own. I have faith in your wonderful reporting skills.
If you are ready to begin, please click on the arrow at the bottom of this letter. You will do great things, young reporter!
Yours truly,
Ivanna Readbooks
